For those planning to make a photography trip in the USA, the Photograph America Newsletter by Robert Hitchman, a Californian photographer, is an incredibly useful source of advice and tips for photographing specific places, landscapes and interesting things: for example, at what time of the day one should be in a certain place and with which lenses and photographic gear, in order not to miss a specific special situation or effect (the light entering into a canyon, or how sunset creates some bizarre forms in the landscape), say, in Utah or California. The most important aspect though is that Roberts supplies precise information on the routes, on the logistics, on the best time of the year , always relying on his own experiences of decades of travels through the United States, including Hawaii.
