In my career as a climber I spent over 20 years photographing the mountains in color. I put together a relevant body of work with hundreds of pictures taken in the Alps as well as in Asia. A selection of these images is present on my website, divided according to the three geographical areas Alps, Himalaya, Karakorum (see webpage From Climbing to Photography). With these images I realized 4 photographic books, all published by Mondadori. Again Mondadori has just published a new and wonderful photographic book entitled Omaggio alla Montagna. Authors of the texts are Roberto Mantovani, the Italian most important historian of mountaineering and renowned journalist specialised on mountains, and Carlo Caccia, journalist and climber. The foreword is by Walter Bonatti, who is in my opinion the greatest climber of all times. To this beautiful book of big format, which has the taste of the good old books of the past (less and less common to find nowadays in the bookstores),I contributed with a selection of my colour photographs, together with the many of other talented photographers. A valuable Christmas gift, both for the mountain lovers and for the wide reading public.
